Lost And Found
Pastor Jim Montgomerie       ( Netherlands ) 2008-06-19     Views : 135     Touched : 66
Luke 15:24. For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.

The truth is, this world is full of God seekers, but the real truth is, there is no such thing as God seekers. God is not lost, it is He who is searching for us.
Somewhere along the line it's gone all wrong. God knows exactly where to find us, He even knows the number of hairs on our head, even so, it is we who are lost.

The So called God seekers of today are only playing the same game of hide and seek that was played by Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. It is the shame and guilt of sin which causes us to hide from God. Hide and seek is the oldest game in the world and even today the rules have never changed. We hide, God counts and seeks, but we try to reach home base before he catches us.

It is the sin in the heart which causes you to believe that God has given up on you, and it is these same sins which even cause us to say there is no God. God has never given up his search for the ones who are lost and in hiding from Him. God has gone to the outer limits to find us, God even went so far as to leave His Kingdom and come down to this earth and walk among us. God even went so far as to take all the sin of this world upon himself with His Baptism, God even took His search for us one step farther, the ultimate sacrifice, He died for our sin so that we may be found, He even conquered death to show us the way to home base. But still we hide from Him behind our sin.

How many Christians today are still searching for God? They know where to find Him, He has gone back to His Kingdom, He has prepared a place for them, and there He is waiting for you. God has even given you the promis of the Holy Spirit to guide you home, but still you hide from Him. You say we have found Him, you say we have received the Holy Spirit, but still you play hide and seek.

If you have truly found God then He has also found you, and He has sealed His promise by living in you. If the Holy Spirit of God lives in you it is because God has declared you sinless. God can never dwell where there is sin because He is Holy and no sin can enter the Holy Place, The kingdom of God. Home base.

So why is it then that you are still searching. You belong to one Church but you want to follow Bible studies and prayer meetings with an other, when you hear of a Prophet or a healer coming to town, you run to them with the hope of being baptised with Holy Ghost fire, falling down and speaking in a strange language.
You even dare to proclame that God speaks to you, He gives you instructions but they are mostly for someone else, or for your Church or for another. You proclame to be Holy but your lifestyle tells a different story. You run around in circles like headless chickens proclaming to be about God's work but acomplishing nothing. Your life is a shambles, it's like the waves of the sea, one minuit you are up and full of the Spirit, the next you are down, sad and empty.

If you as a Christian dare to proclame that the Holy Spirit of God dwells in you, but you continue to beg for forgiveness for your sins, then you are confessing that you are still a sinner who needs to be forgiven and making God out to be a liar. You don't even believe in the redemption work of the blood and the cross which you proclame is all you need. Because you say you have been baptised in water you have eternal life, but you know nothing of the 12 sins in your heart with which you were born.

Mark 7:20-23. And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders. Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within , and defile the man.

These are the sins which you have inherited from Adam. Were they washed clean when you gave your life to Jesus, were they washed clean when you were baptised in water, are they washed clean every time you cover them with the Blood and the cross. No, these sins in your heart are what is causing you to continue sinning and feel the need to continue asking forgiveness. The Blood and the Cross, no matter how precious they are, cannot stop you from sinning, you are only trying to cover your sins with the Blood and the Cross the same way Adam and Eve tried to hide their guilt and shame with fig leaves. But just like the fig leaves dried up, withered away and fell off, causing them to re-cover themselves each time, so it is the same when you proclame the Precious Blood to cover your daily sins. The covering withers away because of your sin and you have to continue to beg for forgiveness. So all you are doing is playing hide and seek. One minuit you are asking for forgiveness by Hiding behind the Blood of Christ and the next you are proclaming the Holy Spirit lives in you.

Tell me then, how is it possible for the Holy Spirit of God to live in the heart of a sinner? How do you expect to receive the Holy Spitit from God when you keep confessing that you are a sinner who needs daily forgiveness?

What you need to do is stop playing these games and come out of hiding, stop trying cover your sins and just confess that you are a hopeless sinner. What you need to do is stop searching for God. What you need to do is say, God here I am, I have been hiding from you all this time, I want you to find me just as I am, see Lord I have taken off my covering, I was lost but now I have let you find me. Save me Lord.

Instead of asking forgiveness for your daily sins, Just confess that you are a hopeless sinner and thank Him for removing these sins and saving you from hell by taking them upon himself when He was Baptised by John the Baptist, and believe that He has paid the price for your transgressions with His Precious Blood on His Altar of offer for once and for all. It is finished.

If you still don't dare to come out of hiding, then ask yourself these questions?

When did Jesus become the Lamb of God? Was it before he was crucified or when he died? When did the offer lamb remove the sins of the children of Israel for the whole year? Was it when the sins were passed on to it by the High Priest, or was it when it's blood flowed and was sprinkled on the horns of the Altar?

John 1:29. Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

Believe me when I tell you, if you are lost and realy want to be found, then stop playing this ancient game of hide and seek. God knows exactly where you are.
It is the sin in your heart that is causing Him not to find you.
Would it not be a wonderfull feeling to know that you will never need those fig leaves again. Come out come out where ever you are, one day God will also stop counting. The game will be over.

You have been blessed, you just don't know it.
