Hebrews 6:1-2, 'The Doctrine Of Christ'
Samuel Akpabio    [email]    ( United Kingdom ) 2019-12-18     Views : 102     Touched : 19
In Hebrews 6:1-2, it is written, "THEREFORE leaving the principles of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of the laying on of hands, and of the resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment."

I believe that these two verses of the scripture is telling us that all seekers of the Kingdom of God cannot serve God in the Holy Spirit (perfection) if they have not believed to receive understanding in the doctrine of Christ. Hence we are told that it is this doctrine that would grant us the Holy Spirit baptism which comes from Jesus, according to the words of God through John the Baptist: Matthew 3:11, "I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire." To go on unto perfection, I believe the Lord is telling us that this perfection is serving God in the Holy Ghost. This qualification to serve God in the Holy Ghost means that our human spirit must. be born again. Therefore, it is in the doctrine of Christ that a believer can receive the knowledge, that helps to believe how the human spirit is born from heaven and to receive the indwelling of the Holy Ghost, which enables a believer to serve God in perfection, John 3:5-6, "Jesus answered, 'Verily, Verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God. That which is born of flesh is flesh, and that which I born of Spirit is spirit.'"

In the two verses of the above scripture, I believe the Lord is telling us that the doctrine of Christ in the Epistles are there to teach us about the truth 'repentance from dead works, and faith toward God, the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of the resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. The Triune God expects us to know and believe in these doctrines of Christ so that we can have the true knowledge and revelation of God.

This chapter of the book of Hebrews is about warning against slothfulness, laziness in serving God in perfection. We should note that in verse 1-6, the Lord is sending a message to all believers perfected in the doctrine of Christ not to reject Christ again trough falling away from the experience of the precious Spiritual gifts believers have partaken through believing on the name of the only begotten son of Gop through the knowledge and believing in the doctrine of Christ.

This verse of the scripture warns us that to fall away from the doctrine of Christ leads to the inability for believers to be able to come to repentance again because they would put the Son of God to an open shame. This is because they are trying to bring Him from heaven to suffer again and to be made sinful again in a baptism that would wash away again our sins and iniquities so that we could again repent and believe in his name to again enter into the Kingdom of God. The Lord warns us that this can never happen and such a person cannot be served again, because it is rejecting the truth of the doctrine of Christ as given to us by the Holy Spirit; this kind of rejection amounts to blasphemy of the Holy Ghost which is unforgivable: Matthew 12:32, "And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come."; 2 Peter 2:20: "For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning."; 1 John 5:16: "If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it."

To this end, it is stated in Hebrews 6:4-6: "For it impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they should fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh and put him to an open shame.

Basically, I believe the Lord is telling us that any believer who falls away from the truth of the doctrine of Christ cannot again come to repentance, because that believer wants Jesus to be crucified again for him/her to enter into the Kingdom of God again. He is telling us that it is impossible to renew such a believer because he/she would bring shame upon the Lord Jesu because of the rejection of the truth of the Holy Spirit which is an unforgiveable sin.

For me, this is the truth and a hard saying which every believer of the truth of the righteousness of God, the gospel of the water and the Spirit ought to guard themselves with as Saints of God.

Again this is a warning to those who handle the word of God without the full knowledge and the revelation of the truth of the doctrine of Christ in the
Epistles as inspired by the Holy Spirit. Also, it is without any doubt that the Elementary principles of Christ proves that laying on of hands was the means by which the sins of the world was transferred to the Lord in his baptism which supports the faith of the righteousness of God of Jesus to have blotted out the sins of mankind through the judgment of the Cross.

This scriptuire also show that it is futile for men to pray for the repentance from sins; all that we have to do to believe the word of God and believe on the name of the Son of God and be saved, for this is the work which God has given to all men. Man is the flesh and the flesh will sin until the day he dies, but the spirit must be saved before the death of the flesh, this is the reason why the gospel of the water and then Spirit must be witnessed throughout the world, for there is no other vehicle by which men can enter into the kingdom of God except by the remission of sins from the heart by the doctrine of Christ to go unto perfection to worship God.
