Truly, the Holy Spirit is NOT received by the laying on of hands

On of the many things that have been misleading Christians is that, they rely so much on facts that they place their faith on them. They do things just because Apostles Paul or Peter or John did them, without searching the underlying laws that govern facts.

Peter laid hands on people and they received the Holy Spirit (Acts 8:17), therefore they conclude : “The Holy Spirit is received by the laying on of hands. Let us look at these two other facts : Jesus opened someone’s eyes by anointing mud on them (John 9:6), and Paul recovered sight by the laying on of Ananias’s hands (Acts 9:12). Now, is sight received by the anointing of mud or the laying on of hands? May be both!!

In Acts 10, gentiles received the Holy Spirit without any laying on of hands. What can we therefore say?  There are countless cases like that in the Word, raising controversy from those I call "factual Christians".

In we settle in the interpretation of facts on the basis of facts, we’ll never make it with the Word of God. All facts are explained by the same principles. What is the underlying law behind all those sight recovery and impartation of the Holy Spirit? One simple thing : Believing in the forgiveness of sin as it is written in Acts 10: 43-44 : “All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name. While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came on all who heard the message.”

Verse 44 states : When they heard those very words of verse 43, the Holy Spirit fell upon them. What happened actually is that, when they heard those words about the forgiveness of sin, they believed them and they were born of the Water and the Spirit.

Those who dwell on facts will always misinterpret the Word, those who know the underlying laws, will never be confused. For they are building on the solid rock : the word of salvation by faith alone in the Water and the Blood, the two works of Jesus that give us perfect salvation once for all (Hebrews 10:10).

The Holy Spirit therefore is not given by the laying on of hands, but by the law called “FAITH IN THE FORGIVENESS OF SIN”.

God bless
