    HOW WAS THE GOSPEL SYMBOLIZED?

The history of the gospel becoming symbolized does not simply show a change in theology, but reveals the process by which God’s work of salvation gradually became philosophized and institutionalized within human understanding. The baptism and the Cross of Jesus were originally one complete event of salvation, but as time passed, their meaning was transformed into symbols and institutions. The period of the Early Church was the time when the apostles and disciples directly preached the words of Jesus and believed in baptism and the Cross as one event of salvation. They clearly proclaimed the gospel that Jesus received baptism from John, took the sins of the world upon His own body, and atoned for those sins on the Cross. To them, the gospel was not merely a doctrine or ritual but an actual event of the remission of sins, and being “born again of water and the Spirit” was proclaimed as the core of salvation. However, after the apostles passed away and the Church Fathers’ era began, the gospel started to be influenced by philosophy and apologetics. The early Church Fathers tried to explain the gospel through Greek philosophy and logic, and as a result, the experiential essence of the gospel was gradually shifted into theoretical interpretation. Baptism was partially transformed from being the actual means of the remission of sins into a ceremony of entering the community of faith, and the gospel began to be understood in the form of a “mystical ritual.” Beginning with the Council of Nicaea in AD 325, the gospel entered the path of doctrinal formalization. The Council clearly distinguished the divinity and humanity of Jesus and established the doctrine of the Trinity, but the event in which Jesus was baptized by John and took upon Himself the sins of the world was excluded from the Creed. From that time, baptism came to be regarded only as a symbol of the Holy Spirit, and the focus of faith was reduced from the union of baptism and the Cross to a Cross-centered faith. As the gospel was systematized around doctrines and creeds, it gradually changed from the actual event of salvation into a declaration of faith. When the papal authority was strengthened in the medieval Catholic era, the gospel became further institutionalized and was transformed into a sacrament-centered structure. The Church established itself as the only channel of grace, teaching baptism as a rite for washing away original sin and the Eucharist as a ceremony in which the sacrifice of the Cross was repeatedly reenacted. The essence of the gospel changed from “faith” to the “performance of rituals,” and salvation was regarded as something granted only through the Church. As a result, the gospel was gradually replaced by symbols and ceremonies, and the meaning of the actual event of redemption became obscure.

AS UNWORTHY AND UNDESERVING ON MY OWN, TO YOU I WILL ALWAYS COMEBACK

To you i sin and fall short O LORD my God, I will hide not even my slightest deepest weaknesses before You O King. I am always weak my LORD, from the time of my waking up to the time am put to rest, I fall short undeniably my God. But yet O LORD, I give my thanks, that despite how weak I am in my flesh, and how low I may be in my spirit in time of turmoil or challenges, Your Grace has already done the work for me O LORD. Am thankful that Jehovah, you took away all my sins through Your baptism from John, through Thy blood shed you paid the wages of sins and rose again to life to give me a newness of life, thank you Mighty God. Despite how weak I am, LORD Your love is sufficient for me wholly, Your baptism and death is sufficient for my wellbeing. Thank you so much my God. Even though the situations may seem tough, teach me always to believe and have faith that all battles belongs to You and You Alone mighty God. Thank you for all Your mercies and Love Jehovah in Christ Jesus our LORD who saved me and all mankind by both His baptism and death Amen!

    FROM FAITH TO FAITH

Immediately we believe in the gospel truth of the Water(transferring of sins), Blood(Judgement of all our sins) and Spirit( Jesus being God and grants eternal new life). Yes! Immediately we believed in this truth, a life of faith from God and back to God had begun. This faith has become our daily breath now, that in everything, this faith must always appear, because without it, then we lie of our new identity. But yet we shall lie not in the New identity bestowed upon us, because this faith of His baptism, death and resurrection is our daily breath. From the moment we met our LORD this Faith in His baptism, death and resurrection become a life to us, and in it we have an eternal hope or assurance that we are the righteous Children of God who will reign with Him for eternity through this faith in Water, Blood and Spirit of Jesus Christ. Our New identity lies in this faith given to us in both Jesus’s baptism(Where He took away all the sins of the world), Death of the Cross(Where He paid for all the wages of sins) and His Resurrection(which has granted us a newness of life and the assurance that Jesus is God Himself) Hallelujah!!! Therefore, without this precious faith in the Gospel truth of the Water and the Spirit(John3:5) no One can ever please God or worship Him. That is why we must hold on to this faith always, and in everything from the time of our rebirth until we meet the LORD who shall come in His fairly Justice and for eternally, we must let this faith to stay alive. I give my sincerest gratitude to God whom through Wisdom, He has showered us with the breath of faith in our new creation life, that we may Praise, and Honour Him for eternity faithfully. May we all continue to to be alive in the Gospel truth of the Water and the Spirit thoroughly until we meet the LORD our God. Amen!
