In 2022, I came across a Christian book in a bookstore. The book was titled "Are You Truly Born Again of Water and the Spirit?" It was written by Pastor Paul C. Jong of South Korea, and I bought it. On my first reading, I didn`t understand anything and I was afraid it might mislead me. So I decided to shun it. But I hesitated, wondering why I should shun a book I had already bought.A few days passed without me rereading it, but my conscience urged me to do so. After rereading it more than five times with my Bible, I prayed to God to help me understand it better. I then gained a profound understanding of being born again of water and the Spirit. Previously, I thought the new birth was like being baptized in many waters, but the spiritual interpretation was different.Later, I understood that being born again of water and the Spirit means believing in the water baptism Jesus received in the Jordan River, for it was there that the sins of the world were given to him by the last priest in the line of Aaron, John the Baptist (Leviticus 16; Matthew 3:13-15; Ephesians 5:25-27). It also means believing in the work of the Holy Spirit, namely, the death and resurrection of our Lord, which have justified us (Romans 4:25). I then discovered a great light within me, and the scales that had prevented me from understanding God`s Word were removed from my heart, despite my membership in a Christian community and my commitment to my denomination. After encountering the Gospel that cleanses from sin, I came to the following conclusion: after discovering the secret of Jesus` baptism, my heart was filled with immense and uncontrollable joy. I then decided to abandon my first faith, that of the blood of Jesus Christ alone. For even though I had believed in Jesus before, I did not feel freedom in my heart; I did not worship God in peace but in fear (Luke 1:74-75).On the day I was ordained in my denomination, I asked my representative the following questions: Why was Jesus baptized by John the Baptist when he was without sin? Why did God give us the law? What is the difference between religion and faith? Can the prayer of repentance we offer each day cleanse our daily sins? I was confident in asking these questions to our denomination representative because I had already found the answers in this book. His first response was that he couldn`t go beyond what had been revealed. His second response was that the Israelites had received the law on two tablets of stone, but that for us Christians, God had inscribed the same law on the tablets of our hearts, even though it was the same law. I was deeply saddened by these answers and laughed inwardly (Romans 3:20, Hebrews 7:11-12). I wisely told him that I was abandoning this faith, because it cannot save anyone. On the contrary, it only leaves empty wounds. He then replied that the authors of this book would not send me to heaven. I then thought sadly that I didn`t need to go there physically, but to enter through true faith, pure from all human thinking (Colossians 2:8; 1 Timothy 2:3-4).Therefore, after encountering the true Gospel of water and the Holy Spirit, I abandoned that faith. Since that day, I thank the Lord Jesus for revealing this Gospel to me, and I continue to spread it so that all may be saved. Hallelujah! Praise be to God the Father and to our Lord Jesus Christ, forever and ever! Amen.MWARABU MWENY, DR Congo
Opening Prayer Heavenly Father, we thank You for the Garden of Eden, the place where You first walked with man. As we stand between the Tree of Life and the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, grant us the spiritual wisdom to discern Your Truth and cast aside our own judgments. Amen. The Commandment of Love In Genesis 2, we see God placing man in a perfect paradise. He gave Adam everything—the rivers, the gold, and the fruit of every tree. But He gave one specific command: "Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die" (Genesis 2:16-17).Many ask, "Why did God plant that tree if He knew they would eat it?" It was not to trap them, but to make them His children. To be a child of God, man had to recognize God’s authority and live by His Word. The Tree of Knowledge represents man’s attempt to be his own god—to define "good" and "evil" based on his own standards and fleshly thoughts. The Serpent’s Lie and Man’s Judgment When the serpent tempted Eve, he said, "Your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil" (Genesis 3:5). Man fell because he preferred his own "wisdom" over God`s Word. From that moment on, human standard for good became relative and selfish.Today, the same plays out in religion. Many people try to reach God by stacking up their own "good deeds"—their own knowledge of what is right. They are still eating from the Tree of Knowledge. They believe that if they do enough "good," they will be saved. But God says that our own standard of righteousness is nothing more than withering fig leaves. It can never cover the shame of sin. The Path Back to the Garden God’s blueprint was to save us from this death. After the fall, He drove man out of Eden and placed a flaming sword to guard the way to the Tree of Life (Genesis 3:24). This was actually an act of mercy. He did not want man to live forever in a sinful state. The only way back to the Tree of Life is through the "Seed of the Woman"—Jesus Christ. Jesus came to this earth to fulfil all righteousness. Through His baptism by John, He took upon Himself the sins of the world that we inherited from Adam, and through His blood on the Cross, He paid the wages of that sin. This is the "gospel of the water and the Spirit." It is the only Truth that allows us to bypass our own flawed "knowledge" and receive the eternal life promised in the beginning. Conclusion Dear brothers and sisters, which tree are you eating from today? Are you still trying to be "like God," relying on your own ethical standards and your own thoughts to be righteous? Or have you returned to the Word of God as it is written? The Lord has already prepared the Tree of Life for you through the baptism and blood of Jesus. When you believe in this perfect gospel, your own carnal judgments are blotted out, and you are clothed in the tunics of skin—the righteousness of God. Let us stop trusting our own "knowledge" and start trusting the eternal Word that gives life.Hallelujah! Amen.
After reading book 69 titled "Return from the Nicene Creed TO THE GOSPEL OF THE WATER AND THE SPIRIT! ( I )", I have come to confirm that the Gospel of the water and the Spirit as recorded in "1 Thessalonians 1:5—For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit and in much assurance"—has much assurance and power.Through the book, I have come to know about the spiritual robbery that the Nicene Creed has committed against the souls who follow it. Even though it has a positive side of establishing faith in the triune God, it erased the process of how this God has saved the entire human race from the sins of the world through His water baptism, His death on the cross, and His resurrection. This book also helped me understand that even the faith of the modern church today is no different from the faith of the Roman Catholic Church. Although they may hold the hour of worship differently, they still share the same faith in only the blood of Jesus as their salvation. Also, the Catholic doctrine of confession is the same as the modern church doctrine of prayers of repentance. Even though the reformers separated themselves from the Catholic Church, they still had their faith rooted in the Nicene Creed. It can be said that today`s protestants, that is protestant churches, are organizationally separated from Catholicism but are still partially connected doctrinally. Even after the reformation, Protestantism still emphasizes only the blood of the cross as the basis of salvation and has not sufficiently accepted the Gospel of the water and the Spirit. The book clearly explains the Gospel of the water and the Spirit—the truth of salvation that has set us mankind free from sins forever when we believe in the Beautiful Gospel. This book also pinpoints the truth that the church of today has lost the Gospel proclaimed by the early church. Because it lost the Gospel, it has become a religion. The faith of the Nicene Creed is the cursed faith mentioned in Galatians 1:6-9.The intention of the author is clearly seen: he doesn`t want to criticize false faith blindly, but he contrasts the faith of the water and the Spirit with other faiths so that he may enable the reader to make the correct choice of faith by following the faith written in the Bible—the faith in the full work of the water and the Spirit. The church of today must return to the Gospel of the water and the Spirit, departing from the faith in the Nicene Creed. This book also teaches that the leaders of Christianity should be the first to return to the Gospel of the water and the Spirit, followed by their followers. In doing so, the contemporary Christian will face some losses: theological loss, institutional loss, social and economic loss, and also human loss. The book discusses the narrow and wide path, stating that the narrow path refers to the Gospel of the water and the Spirit that Jesus talked about in John 3:5: "Jesus answered, `Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.`" Believing in the Gospel of the water and the Spirit is not a mere suggestion but the narrow path that everyone must pass through. God had already planned our salvation in His Son Jesus Christ even before the creation, and this salvation is the Gospel of the water and the Spirit—the narrow way.In contrast to the narrow way that only demands faith from the believers, the wide gate signifies all the ways by which people try to achieve salvation according to their own righteousness. When Jesus said that we should enter through the narrow gate and that the wide gate leads to destruction, He destroyed the law-centered faith and formal religious belief that oppose the gospel. We can also see, even from the Didache, that the early church fathers believed in the baptism of Jesus as the point where He took away our sins. So, the omission of the baptism of Jesus from the Nicene Creed was intentional. Regarding the Didache, it’s important for us to know that the source of salvation doesn`t lie in human works but in the righteousness of God: the baptism of Jesus Christ and His death on the cross.Rev. Paul C. Jong states: "The Didache is a valuable record showing the actual faith life of the Early Church, but it has a clear difference from the depth of the redemptive gospel testified in the Bible... it was insufficient to reveal the complete gospel of redemption." Therefore, we need to launch a reformation of faith today—not to establish a new denomination or doctrine, but to return to the core truth of the Bible regarding the water and the Spirit. The church must be established on the faith that believes in the Gospel word of the water and the Spirit. Jesus said to Peter that He would build His church on Peter`s faith. As clearly explained in the book, Peter possessed the faith that even though there are many idol gods in this world, Jesus Christ was the living God who created all things. He also believed that Jesus was the Christ—the anointed one. In the Old Testament, three offices were anointed: High Priest, King, and Prophet. Jesus is the one who held all three offices. He is our King who created us, our Prophet who teaches us the Word, and our High Priest who has saved us by the water and the Spirit (His baptism, death, and resurrection).According to Matthew 16:18, the word "MY" in "My church" signifies that the church doesn`t belong to a certain institution or person, but to Jesus Himself. The church must escape from the worldly religious system that uses the name of God but has lost the faith. Revelation 18:4 says, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins.” These words presuppose that God’s people are already within that Babylonian system.Religion is man’s attempt to go to God, but the gospel is the path of grace by which God came down to man. It is very safe to say that today`s Christianity has declined into mere religion. The book also uses the account of John chapter 8 to explain how Jesus solved the sin of the adulterous woman. Jesus eliminated her sins by receiving them through His baptism and paying the price on the cross. That is why He told the woman He couldn`t condemn her. The Apostle Paul also declares that there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. Hallelujah! If one were to attempt to resolve the sin problem within the theological structure of the Nicene Creed, it would be possible only through the sacrament of confession (Catholicism) or prayers of repentance (modern Christianity). We need to stay away from such a faith that relies on human will rather than the work Jesus already finished.Today`s Christians must return to the Gospel recorded in the Bible—the Gospel of the water and the Spirit. It’s not yet too late for them to turn around. God is still calling them: “Come now, and let us reason together... though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow” (Isaiah 1:18). “I have blotted out, like a thick cloud, your transgressions... Return to Me, for I have redeemed you” (Isaiah 44:22).We are currently living on the edge of the end of the world. Christians must not let this golden opportunity pass them by. They should believe this true Gospel before they stand before the Great White Throne—the judgment seat of God. I am waiting to receive the printed copy of the book so that I can continue learning more. It`s a beautiful book that has stirred my heart’s love for the Gospel, knowing that only the Gospel of the water and the Spirit is the truth written in the Bible. God bless Rev. Paul C. Jong and all the members of The New Life Mission.Your coworker, Bright Kwaku
I was brought up in a religious family in a Roman Catholic background. I first heard of the gospel of salvation in my high school. I believed in Jesus. But I had a lot of struggles with faith because of so much stress on Spiritual experiences and manifestations. I couldn’t speak in tongues for a long time and I thought that I wasn’t saved properly. At ttimes I was led to strenuous works to prayand fast for my innerdark past sins, curses from my generationsand the like! My turmoils remained or would cease for some time then they erupt.5 years ago I got exposure to the gospel of the Blood and cross. It revealed much of my direct relationship with Jesus. At least I got knowledge of true repentance and overcame some of the struggles of repenting as a sinner after every fault of my life. But, it is only late last year, after reading some books from New Life Missions over the YouTube that I discovered there was something missing in my salvation journey. I lived emphasizing the blood of the cross as the basis of my salvation and ignored the means by which I was saved: by water and the Spirit. The book “HAVE YOU TRULY BEEN BORN AGAIN” threw the challenge on my face directly. I realized the emptiness I have lived experiencing was due to my half-baked confession. I realized that I had not accepted the word of truth that my Jesus went to the cross after having the sins of the world transferred to Him by the baptism he received from John at the Jordan River. This made me realize that my sins, faults and weaknesses were all bundled on Christ and he walked throughout His ministry carrying my sins on His shoulder. I realized that each day He lived, was always leading Him to the cross where He received the Judgment for all sins of the world including my sins. Then I got the whole picture. He shed the blood on my behalf. He died instead of me and He resurrected so that I may get a new life.I am now digging more into the books by Rev. Paul C Jong. Thanks so much Pastor John, for guiding me into the books I have so far re-read and for including me in the official WhatSapp for Coworkers and I am learning a lot. Personally this has changed my life radically and I real desire to help as many people as I can to embrace this great gospel of the water and the Spirit.I am learning a lot and am ready to pass this true word of truth to so many believers who have lived in ignorance.YOURS SINCERELY, Pastor John Karanja, Kenya
Hallelujah! Thank you very much for your message and for encouraging me to remain steadfast in the faith of the gospel of the water and the Spirit. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to read and reflect on the book titled “Return from the Nicene Creed to the Gospel of the Water and the Spirit (I).” From my reading, the central message of the book is a call for believers to return to the original and complete gospel as revealed in the Scriptures—the gospel of the water and the Spirit—rather than relying solely on later creeds, human doctrines, or theological interpretations that may not fully express God’s work of salvation. The book explains that true salvation is accomplished through Jesus Christ by both His baptism (the water), through which He took upon Himself the sins of the world, and His blood on the Cross (the Spirit), through which judgment for those sins was paid. It emphasizes that separating the Cross from the baptism of Jesus results in an incomplete understanding of the gospel. According to the book, believing in both is essential to receiving the remission of sins and becoming truly born again. Another strong point in the book is its reminder that faith must be rooted in the written Word of God, not in human traditions, philosophies, or religious systems. The author challenges believers to examine whether their faith is based on Scripture or on doctrines developed by men over time. This message deeply resonated with me, especially in our generation where many follow religious practices without fully understanding the biblical foundation of their faith. Spiritually, the book encouraged me to re-examine my own faith and teaching, ensuring that Christ’s baptism, His blood, and the work of the Holy Spirit are clearly preached and believed. It renewed my conviction that true godliness comes from receiving, believing, and obeying the Word of God as it is written. I am thankful for this opportunity to learn and to grow deeper in the truth of the gospel. May God continue to guide us into all truth through His Word and Spirit. Thank you once again, and may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Yours in Christ, Rev. Ishmeal NketiaFounder and Leader International Heaven Kingdom Preachers Church Ghana
